Thief nabs clothes from downtown SLO store

slo theifSan Luis Obispo police are searching for a woman caught on camera stealing clothing on Tuesday from a woman’s apparel store in downtown San Luis Obispo. [KSBY]

A woman allegedly walked into Ambiance in the 700 block of Higuera Street, ripped the tags off some clothing while in the dressing room and stole the merchandise. Thefts also occurred at other downtown San Luis Obispo business on Tuesday, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

Officers say the Ambiance thief may be responsible for the other thefts in the area. The woman is described as a Hispanic female in her 20s with ripped jeans and a pierced nose.

Police are using a newly created Nixle notification system to alert businesses in the area of thefts. Businesses can sign up for downtown area Nixle alerts by visiting nixle.com or texting SLOPDDTGROUP to 888777.

Is she from Santa Maria? Many Santa Maria residents have a biased, prejudiced view of SLO, and they think SLO deserves more crime because it’s not fair that SLO has low crime and other cities have alot more crime. I live in Santa Maria and I hear comments like this all the time.
