SLO hotel robbed at gunpoint

handgunA man robbed a San Luis Obispo hotel at gunpoint Sunday night and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police are still searching for the suspect.

Around 10:30 p.m.,  a white male wearing a gray bandana covering his face entered the Lexington Inn at 2050 Garfield Street and approached the night clerk. The suspect then brandished a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money, according to the police department.

The robber fled after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash from the clerk.

Officers responded to the scene and conducted an extensive search but did not locate the suspect. Investigators have not determined if the suspect used a vehicle during the robbery.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches and 200 pounds. His age is unknown, as well.

Investigators request that anyone who has information about the crime contact the police department.
