UPDATE: Cuesta President out of the running in Alabama
October 13, 2009
By KAREN VELIE
Cuesta College President David Pelham is no longer a candidate to be the new chancellor of Alabama’s two-year community college system.
Last week, Pelham and 11 other candidates interviewed for the position. The Alabama State Board of Education is looking for a replacement for Bradley Byrne, who resigned as chancellor in May to run for governor, according to the Rocky Mount Telegram.
Board members voted to reopen the search and drop the doctorate requirement after only two of the applicants made the cut for a second interview.
Pelham took the helm at Cuesta in March, 2008.
