“Red Sharpie” bank robber arrested
December 23, 2009
Law enforcement officials today announced the arrest of a man alleged to be the “Red Sharpie” bank robber, suspected in a string of bank robberies on the Central Coast and in southern California.
Anthony William Frisco, 44, who recently resided in San Clemente and Las Vegas, was apprehended late last week by Santa Barbara police detectives, acting on a tip. The “Red Sharpie Bandit,” named for the use of a red marking pen during robberies, is suspected in a number of local bank robberies this year, including the Rabobank in Pismo Beach and Chase Bank in San Luis Obispo.
