Storm Summary: Day two
January 18, 2010
Heavy rain and winds crisscrossed San Luis Obispo County Monday morning, disrupting power lines and creating power outages. Winds as strong as 80 m.p.h. were recorded.
Highway 41 between Morro Bay and Atascadero closed for part of the afternoon due to a downed line. Highway 166 will be closed overnight because of a second downed power line. Highway 1 in Oceano has been reopened after slight flooding.
Meanwhile, homes in South County and Santa Maria/Orcutt suffered through loss of power throughout the day and evening. PG&E maintains a power outage map for all of California.
PG&E meteorologist John Lindsey expects the second storm to arrive late Tuesday morning, followed by a third major storm − the most significant so far − Wednesday afternoon. A fourth storm front is expected to arrive next Monday.
