Texting driver blamed for San Luis Obispo power outage

April 26, 2010

A male driver who allegedly took his eyes off the road while texting on his cell phone crashed his car and caused a power outage in the neighborhoods surrounding Cal Poly Sunday afternoon. [Tribune]

The driver’s Toyota Camry crashed into a power pole, knocking it to the ground, around 4:15 p.m. on the north sidewalk next to Mustang Village, located near the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Casa Street.

Police say the driver, who was alone in the car, suffered only minor injuries, and was treated at a local hospital.

Meanwhile Pacific Gas & Electric reports that roughly 2400 customers lost their power for a time as a result of the accident. Utility crews were still on the scene as late as 7:30 p.m.

The accident also caused a small fire at a Foothill Boulevard apartment building after a circuit breaker box grounded out.

Real simple. Pull over first. Save everyone a lot of grief. Idiot…

Not smart, not intelligent, not rationale, not mature, not responsible

And driving too fast.

I am a little passionate about this.

To the person who was texting and driving.

If you cripple yourself or die I could care less, you deserve it!

If you injured or kill a friend or love one, I would come after you (strange isn’t it-your sorry is NOT gonna get you by)!

If a victim hold a judgement on you till the end of your life it would be proper and even then I would not be satisfied!

Your a stupid A*s*s*, you really are, what are you trying to prove to yourself!

Really and truly How stupid A*s*s* can you be!

I know this is cruel to say

But how can anyone be this stupid!

I don’t know which is worst, a criminal with intent to do damage or harm

Or someone stupid doing the same
