San Luis Obispo burglar detained by victim

A San Luis Obispo man and his friend stopped a burglar near the corner of Kentucky and Stafford streets shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Friday.
Andrew Chisamore, 20, and a friend were walking home when they saw Matthew Wykoff, 19, attempting to break the driver’s side window of Chisamore’s car with his fist.
Chisamore and his friend confronted Wykoff, wrestled him to the ground and worked to detain him. Wykoff punched Chisamore several times who punched back.
Both men sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
A vehicle waiting for Wykoff was seen leaving the area before San Luis Obispo Police arrived.
Police arrested Wykoff on suspicion of attempted vehicle burglary and assault. He was booked into County Jail with bail set at $50,000.
