Man abducted during home invasion in Grover Beach

September 6, 2011

Police are investigating a Grover Beach home invasion and abduction that occurred at about 6:15 a.m. on Monday.

The male suspect entered an unlocked residence on the 400 block of Manhattan Avenue, brandished a firearm at a male resident, and demanded cash.

He then ordered the victim to take him for a drive in the victim’s black 2006 Hummer H3. They headed south on Highway 101 and then east on Highway 166.

In a desolate area, the suspect forced the driver from the vehicle and headed east. The unnamed victim, who suffered minor cuts and abrasions, flagged down a passing motorist who gave him a ride back to Grover Beach.

Police are looking for the suspect they describe as white, in his late 30s to early 40s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a “scruffy look.”

Glad to here thie victum is ok. ” lock-in-load”

I’m feelin’ there’s a whole lot more to this story.

Stay tuned.

Ditto.

I agree. An abduction during daytime that lasted 20-30 minutes and the description is that poor?

It must have been the Hummer in the driveway. I bet the perp probably figured anyone who didn’t mind shelling out the $$ for the gas to drive one, must have plenty of cash lying around. Lock your doors and hide the Hummer.

Go eassssy on the speculation…Ain’t right to do that…

Well what the heck, something caused the perp to pick that house? I’m actually giving the victim the benefit of the doubt as to what it might have been. I have heard of robbers trying doors until they found one that wasn’t locked, I suppose that could be it ;)

Who would leave their doors unlocked in Grover Beach? Not wanting to say the victim deserved this, but hell, I even lock my doors in San Luis Obispo (not college part of town, either).

When you’re home ? Not me. most of the time I leave my door standing open.. But that’s not an invitation to come invade my house people, I am armed.

At 6:15 a.m., I am not really ready for visitors, so yes, my door IS locked at that time…

I am always armed, door or no door.
