Money’s tight, just like Matosantos

Ana Matosantos

This state’s financial problems are staggering, and apparently so was the finance director.

Ana Matosantos, who heads the state’s Finance Department, was arrested early Friday for DUI after Sacramento police noticed her car weaving near the Capitol. Her 2004 Acura registration was expired, also. [BusinessWeek]

Matosantos, 36, was booked into Sacramento County Jail shortly after midnight on misdemeanor charges. She took a field sobriety test, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Lt. Rick Campbell, but the results were not made available to the media.

“My decision to drive last night was reckless and irresponsible,” Matosantos, 36, said in a prepared statement. “I accept full responsibility and there is no excuse for my actions.” A Democrat, she was appointed by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

She offered her resignation to Governor Jerry Brown, but he declined to accept it, said a spokesperson for the department.

I am shocked that a person of questionable responsibility is working for our government. Shocked, I tell you! Shocked!

….appointed by a philanderer.

And if she was a Republican, (and many of them have been in the same boat,) would you all respond the same way? Honestly?

Most definitely YES. To assume otherwise is presumptuous and rude.

And then there is THIS story:

“Assemblywoman Mary Hayashi is facing charges on allegations that she shoplifted more than $2,000 in merchandise from a high-end retailer in San Francisco, according to a San Francisco Chronicle report. Hayashi, 45, who has served in the Assembly since 2006 — and is married to Alameda Superior Court Judge Dennis Hayashi — was arraigned Thursday in San Francisco Superior Court. She had earlier posted $15,000 bail.”

Again…there are NO words adequate to express the outrage on either of these stories!

There are simply no words left for this kind of $&%@!

C’mon, Jerry. Just accept the resignation. Driving drunk should get any politico fired instantly.

This would also sum her job performance as finance director…

Ha! Love that post, easymoney!
