Photos of the Mid-State Fair annual cattle drive

Tradition lived on in Paso Robles Wednesday as the annual cattle drive through city streets signaled the start of the California Mid-State Fair. A riderless horse was led along the route in memory of the late George Randolph Hearst Jr., chairman and president of the Hearst Foundation who died June 25 at the age of 84. A three-mile trot for about 50 head of local cattle ended at the Riverside Avenue entrance to the fair

Only sad part about the NOW cattle drive. You got 50 horses to 1 cow. And half the riders probably rent their horses for this event just so they can be seen. Sheesh, dont we have any real cowboys here anymore? My answer would be yes, but they are doing real cowboy stuff. This is pure PR and the real cattle drive was lost years ago.
