Gere Sibbach

San Luis Obispo County Auditor-Controller Gere Sibbach announced Tuesday he will retire with two years left in his four-year term.

Sibbach was first elected Auditor-Controller in 1990, and reelected in 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2010. The SLO County Board of Supervisors will appoint an interim auditor-controller to replace Sibbach who said he plans to retire on Dec. 29

Sibbach, 60, said it is a good time for him to step aside because the county is in good financial shape and that he “is proud to leave behind an outstanding department staff.”

It is my understanding that the public sector retirees from manager to the top, enjoy 100% of salary retirement.

No one should be getting 100%, no one.

Twenty one hours exactly. Lets get this tea party going.

Seems like the auditor would know the best time to flee a sinking ship …
