Man allegedly kills his father in Orcutt

A man has been arrested after he allegedly shot and killed his father and critically injured his mother Monday night at an Orcutt park during a family dispute.

Shortly before 6 p.m. at Orcutt Community Park on Sage Crest Drive, several shots were fired.

The alleged shooter then fled the scene in a black Jeep that was later found abandoned on the Stowell Road overpass to Highway 101. The suspect showed up about a half an hour after the shooting at Marian Regional Medical Center, where he had gone for an unrelated medical issue.

Officers took the suspect into custody and booked him into Santa Barbara County Jail.
