Parolee leads Paso Robles police on chase

December 27, 2012

A man sought by California parole officers led Paso Robles police on a chase Wednesday afternoon that ended in his arrest.

Police attempted to arrest Gabriel Garcia, 40, near the corner of Capitol Hill Drive and Creston Road around 3:30 p.m., according to the Paso Robles Police Department. But, Garcia drove away and did not stop when the police turned on their vehicle siren.

Garcia ran several stops signs and red lights, and then stopped his vehicle near the entrance to the Spanish Lakes development. He tried to flee by foot, but police caught up with him and arrested Garcia on his parole warrant.

Paso Robles police will also charge Garcia with possession of illegal narcotics and evading arrest.
