January 17, 2013
A San Luis Obispo man died in a recreational vehicle fire early Wednesday morning across the street from a CalFire station.
The fire occurred around 12:30 a.m. near Broad Street and Farmhouse Lane, just east of the San Luis Obispo airport and the fire station, according to CalFire. Ronald Silveira, 57, who was living in the vehicle, died in the fire.
Firefighters arrived within minutes, but Silveira sustained fatal injuries. Four fire engines and 18 total firefighters responded to the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown. CalFire is conducting the investigation.
Earlier this month, a woman died in an RV fire in Morro Bay, and a hash oil lab explosion caused a fire at a San Luis Obispo mobile home park.
