Citizen’s arrest stops Paso Robles car burglary

May 30, 2013

Sanchez Arrest 05.26.13A Paso Robles resident detained a Templeton man breaking into a neighbor’s car early Sunday morning.

Around 3 a.m. Sunday, Paso Robles police received a call about a suspected car burglar in the 1000 block of 19th Street. When officers arrived in the area, they found a Paso Robles resident sitting on top of a 21-year-old man.

The Paso Robles man said he observed Mario Sanchez Jr. running from a Dodge Caravan that had a broken window and car alarm sounding. Sanchez hid in the shadows until the alarm stopped, then returned to the car and entered it.

After the burglar entered the vehicle, the owners of the Caravan walked outside to check on their car. Their neighbor who spotted the burglar warned them about the man inside their vehicle, then confronted him and detained him until police arrived.

When the officers arrived, they discovered about 3.7 grams of what they believed to be cocaine in Sanchez’s pocket. The officers arrested Sanchez for auto burglary and possession of narcotics and booked him in San Luis Obispo County Jail.

You’re either a sheep, a sheepdog or a wolf. This sheepdog caught a wolf. Most people are sheep but thankfully, not all.

“A Paso Robles resident detained a Templeton man breaking into a neighbor’s car early Sunday morning.”

Great job and congrats to the citizen who did the right thing…

The vehicle owners are lucky, most people I know are just annoyed at car alarms and try to ignore them. I suppose when you live in a high-crime area like PR is becoming (has become?) then it’s a different story.

Excellent!

Except for the first sentence.

Yeah, missing a verb.
