Possible homicide in Atascadero under investigation

The Atascadero Police Department is investigating a suspicious death in Atascadero as a homicide.
Around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Atascadero police received a report of an unresponsive person at a residence in the 4300 block of Tranquilla Avenue. When officers arrived at the home, they found the resident dead.
Atascadero police have not released the identity of the victim.
Investigators from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office, the Atascadero State Hospital and the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office are assisting police in the investigation.
