June 26, 2013
Friends and relatives have indentified the victim of a fatal plane crash Monday as San Luis Obispo resident Scott Metzger.
Metzger, 44, crashed his twin-engine plane around 1 p.m. Monday into an unoccupied Fed Ex truck parked on Granada Drive in San Luis Obispo. Metzger did not have any other passengers on board.
The plane crashed next to the Promega Biosciences building, but no one on the ground suffered injuries.
Metzger was a technology executive and an inventor. Software firm River Meadow lists Metzger as their chief technical officer and chief operating officer.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash and has yet to determine a cause. Metzger’s identity has not yet been verified by a DNA test.
