‘Central Coast Bandit’ wanted for five bank robberies
July 18, 2013
A woman who robbed the Golden 1 Credit Union in Paso Robles on Tuesday is wanted for a total of five bank robberies on the Central Coast, four of which occurred in San Luis Obispo County.
The FBI has dubbed the woman the “Central Coast Bandit” and has credited her with robbing two Atascadero banks on Valentines Day and the Coast Hills Federal Credit Union in Nipomo last month, as well as the Paso Robles Golden 1 Credit Union Tuesday. The bandit is also suspected to have robbed the Monterey Credit Union in Pacific Grove last New Year’s Eve.
Law enforcement describes the woman as Hispanic and 35 to 45 years old. She is 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 6 inches tall and 150 to 160 pounds.
In each of her robberies, the Central Coast Bandit wore a hat and carried a black purse. She is suspected to have fled in a grey sedan or a gold suburban-type vehicle.
The FBI asks anyone with information about the robber to contact the agency at 310-477-6565.
