SLO man robs Rite Aid for pair of headphones
August 27, 2013
A San Luis Obispo man threatened Rite Aid employees with a knife Monday in order to steal a pair of stereo headphones.
Douglas Hunt, 34, used a knife to remove a security device from a pair of stereo headphones around 9:40 a.m. Monday in the Rite Aid on Johnson Avenue in San Luis Obispo.
When an employee noticed Hunt and asked him if he needed help, the man turned the knife toward the worker, said he was stealing the headphones and ordered not to interfere.
Hunt then walked to the front of the store, where he threatened a second employee with the knife and demanded the person get out of his way. The robber then fled the store.
San Luis Obispo police officers found Hunt a short distance away from the store wearing the same clothing and the stolen headphones around his neck.
Officers arrested Hunt for robbery and booked him in San Luis Obispo County Jail on $35,000 bail.
