Michael George Johnson, 49, allegedly attempted to solicit sex from two social acquaintances and dissuade them from reporting themselves as victims. Johnson, whose last known address was in San Luis Obispo, made the solicitations in person.
Megan’s Law classified Johnson as a “high risk” offender in 2010. His previous offenses included two counts of annoying or molesting a child under the age of 18.
San Luis Obispo detectives conducted a weeks-long investigation prior to arresting Johnson.
Officers charged him with making contact with a minor with the intent to commit a sex crime, a felony attempt to prevent or dissuade a witness or victim from reporting, failing to provide information and using false information.
Johnson also faces two unlisted charges. He is currently in San Luis Obispo County Jail on $100,000 bail.
