Pismo Beach police arrested a Moose Lodge wedding reception guest on charges of attempted murder after the Oceano man allegedly stabbing several people with a knife or a sharp instrument on Saturday, police said.
Shortly after 9 p.m., a fight broke out in the lodge parking lot on the 100 block of Main Street. Police arrived to find several victims suffering from serious injuries. Because of the large number of people, the serious nature of the incident and injuries, police requested backup from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department.
One victim sustained multiple lacerations to his head and face and the other had gashes on his hand. Emergency personnel transported both victims to local hospitals where they were treated for their injuries. Though considered serious, the injuries are not life threatening.
Officers arrested Daniel Berumen, 21, on charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, battery with great bodily injury and mayhem. Berumen was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.
