Simultaneous earthquakes hit San Simeon area

Two earthquakes occurred near San Simeon early Tuesday morning, both taking place at 1:53 a.m., according to the United States Geological Survey.
One quake had a 3.7 magnitude and an epicenter seven miles northeast of San Simeon. The other earthquake centered one mile northeast o San Simeon and registered a 3.8 on the Richter Scale.
Both of the quakes occurred within 30 miles of Morro Bay, Atascadero and Paso Robles.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department did not receive any reports of injuries or damage as a result of the earthquakes.
