Paso Robles teacher arraigned in molestation case
August 6, 2014
The Paso Robles High School teacher arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday on eight counts.
The eight counts filed against Jeremy Monn, 31, include unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, meeting a minor for lewd purposes, dissuading a witness from reporting a crime, and child molestation. The alleged sexual relationship began in March.
On June 1, police received a tip that a 16-year-old girl was having an ongoing sexual relationship with her agriculture teacher. Police then interviewed the student who admitted to having a sexual relationship with Monn.
Following his arrest, Monn posted $50,000 bail and was released. The district has barred Monn from school district facilities and from contacting students.
