Body discovered in Carpenteria Salt Marsh

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a suspicious death after a passerby found a man’s body in the Carpenteria Salt Marsh Saturday. [KEYT]
A person walking in the area discovered the body around 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Witnesses spotted responders dragging the body out from a path near the marsh water.
Sheriff’s investigators have identified the man, but have not yet released his name. They did indicate the man was a Carpenteria resident in his 60s.
The Carpenteria Salt Marsh is a University of California-owned nature reserve.
