Pismo Beach planning to ban pot deliveries

February 19, 2015

med potThe Pismo Beach City Council voted unanimously Tuesday in favor of banning medical marijuana deliver services.

Tuesday’s vote introduced the ordinance, and the council must vote for it again at an upcoming council meeting in order for the ban to take effect. The council did not debate the issue at all prior to voting on it this week.

No public speakers address the council about the proposed ban, either. Both the San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles councils considered banning marijuana delivery services last year, but they tabled the proposal after listening to public opposition.

Pismo Beach already has a ban on fixed-location marijuana dispensaries. A city staff report says that marijuana delivery services create some of the adverse impacts that fixed-location dispensaries do.

Staff did not list the adverse impacts, though. A second reading of the ordinance will likely appear on an upcoming council consent agenda.

Just the other night my buddies and me were down at Harry’s sucking down a few cold ones and a couple of shots discussing how we don’t want no pot heads driving around pismo making it all unsafe for the rest of us, then we drove home and had a good nights sleep.

People don’t mind alcohol in their town….they dislike alcoholics and the damage they cause.

People don’t mind dope in their town….they dislike drug addicts and the damage they cause.

Why in creation would you want mj or any other dope being delivered around town? So glad the adults make decisions and the children of the 420 stay home…..waiting for that soft knock on the door.

1. So they don’t go out impaired and get it?

2. So they don’t go with alcohol which is 1000 fold more dangerous.

3. So they don’t go with prescription drugs which are also 1000 fold more dangerous.

4. Because if they were going to get rowdy or burglarize or rob or fight or whatever, the dope will take that desire right out of them.

5. Because it helps many people with physical ailments like pain, chemotherapy, sleep disorders etc.

Should I go on?

Check your CDC statistics. Over 200,000 people die each year from misuse of prescription drugs. What do you think that costs America? Know how many die from misuse of MJ? That’s right 0.

You mean that soft knock with a battering ram followed by amped-up adrenalin junkies, wearing battle gear, carrying guns, screaming contradictory and/or unnecessary orders and shooting at anyone who they can’t easily see is unarmed and taking out the family dog for good measure? One doesn’t need to be a marijuana user to see how the laws are a total over-reaction to a minor problem and set a bad precedent for future use of law enforcement personnel in suppressing individual freedom.

Ooh, ahhh, so scary. Those evil pot smokers creating adverse impact says the city staff.

What’s next, going to ban all those wineries in the county? 1000 fold more damage being done by alcohol drinkers than pot smokers.

So what of the severely disabled patients that can’t make it to the sales counter? Are they to be deprived of relief? Care givers can’t just waltz into a club and do their patient’s shopping and without delivery service, people who rely on it do without or go through questionable sources.

Now that they have banned the delivery by the licensed delivery person the medical pot user will have to get into their own car and go and get the pot. Why does this sound like I bad idea to me? Didn’t California legalize medical marijuana?

I can’t recall any negative news stories about incidents with MMJ delivery drivers, except of course the sham of using swat teams to raid them in 2010. Seems that turned out with none of them being convicted, so how is it such a threat to society? Pretty ridiculous trying to be such nazis over people getting legal medicine. Drug, (yes, that’s right) stores deliver far more potentially dangerous and desirable medicines, usually with vehicles depicting they are drug store delivery vehicles. Are we going to see those banned also? Hypocrisy at its finest.

Now that Pedro has a driver’s licenses he can drive me, but what about the others who do not have a driver or can’t drive themselves?

The impacts were so adverse they couldn’t even list them.

Washington and Colorado legalized Pot use and guess what…..

Nothing Happened.

Stop fighting the lost War on Drugs.

I’ve never touched it in my life and won’t….but there is this little thing called Freedom that so many people just don’t understand these days.
