At about 9:30 p.m., the car crashed into the power pole, which then fell and blocked the intersection of Willow Road and Pomeroy Road. The outage caused 2,700 people to lose power.
About 202 Nipomo residents remained without power Thursday morning. PG&E officials say power should be restored by around 10 a.m.
No one suffered injuries in the crash.
CHP investigators have yet to determine the cause of the crash. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected as factors. An investigation is ongoing.
