A depressed man is suspected of starting a fire in Los Osos on Monday afternoon that completely destroyed his home and seriously burned him. [KSBY]

In the early afternoon, the family of Mark Hannah, 47, asked the San Luis Obispo Sheriff to do a welfare check on Hannah because of his mental state. Deputies later found Hannah driving to Cayucos, detained him shortly and let him go.

At about 3:45 p.m., neighbors saw smoke coming from Hannah’s home and reported the blaze. Cal Fire investigators suspect the fire was ignited in two rooms near the center of the home.

Upon arrival, deputies found Hannah in his back yard. Emergency personnel first transported Hannah to a local hospital and then to a burn center in Fresno where he is being treated for third-degree burns over 30 percent of his body.

The good news is that there will be a building lot on the market for someone with a burning desire to build a house.

Wow… the things people do to get out of paying for that sewer thang.

Hope he was the property owner.

Depression is very serious, how sad for everyone.
