Paso Robles John Doe identified

After four years, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Coroner identity a body found in the Salinas riverbed in Paso Robles as 67-year-old Phillip Max Ahoff. Investigators believe Ahoff died of natural causes.
On Jan. 12, 2012, Ahoff’s decomposing body was found. At the time, deputies took photographs and fingerprints of the deceased.
In Dec. 2015, KSBY ran a news story highlighting unidentified deceased persons. A viewer recognized John Doe number 5 and contacted the sheriff’s department.
Deputies confirmed the body belonged to Ahoff by matching fingerprints. County officials then notified Ahoff’s only known next-of-kin, a cousin, of his death.
