Driver crashes into cars while fleeing CHP

A driver crashed into multiple cars on Highway 101, ran vehicles off the roadway and traveled the wrong way on the highway while fleeing California Highway Patrol officers in a cross-county chase on Monday. Officers eventually caught the suspect and arrested him in San Miguel. [KSBY]
At 6:25 p.m., a man driving a white Nissan Xterra SUV fled CHP officers north of Soledad in Monterey County. A 70-mile chase ensued reaching speeds of more than 100 mph.
At one point during the pursuit, the suspect reportedly drove in circles while hitting cars. The driver hit at least three vehicles, and another three narrowly avoided collisions. T
At about 7:30 p.m., the driver was stopped by an officer deployed spike strip in San Miguel north of the San Marcos Road exit. The driver then locked himself inside his SUV. Officers eventually arrested the man.
