Shandon woman killed in crash identified
July 28, 2016
The Shandon woman killed in an accident on Highway 101 on Monday morning has been identified as Sarah Anne Swerdoski, 29, according to the CHP.
At approximately 4:35 a.m., Swerdoski was driving northbound on Highway 101 south of San Diego Way at a high rate of speed when her Toyota Camry drifted from its lane onto a dirt embankment. Swerdoski then over corrected and lost control of her car.
The car then traveled back onto the dirt embankment, became airborne, crashed into a freeway exit sign and then an oak tree. Because Swerdoski was not wearing her seat belt, she was partially ejected during the crash.
Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
Officers have not ruled out drugs or alcohol as factors in the crash.
