A Burger King employee stole a large amount of cash from the business, then told police the restaurant had been robbed, according to the Atascadero Police Department.

At about 1 a.m. Wednesday, Atascadero police responded to a report that a robbery had just occurred at the Burger King located at 8304 El Camino Real. Juan Martinez, Jr., 21, said a man entered the business and took a large amount of cash as Martinez was closing the restaurant for the night.

The suspect was last seen leaving the Burger King in an unknown direction, Martinez told police. Officers searched the area with the help of a K9 but did not locate a suspect.

Later in the morning, officers contacted Martinez.

Detectives then conducted a probation search and located a large amount of cash and two bank deposit bags that belonged to Burger King. Martinez later confessed to taking the money from Burger King and making a false robbery report to officers, according to a police department press release.

Officers arrested Martinez and booked him in San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of embezzlement and making a false police report. Martinez remains in custody with his bail set at $20,000.

He must have aspirations of becoming an Olympic Swimmer…

Pretty sad when you cannot even work at keeping a job at Burger King. Just give it all to me now!

Let me see throwing sign while taking a selfie with a tattoo up the forearm-what could go wrong?

I’m sure Juan Martinez Senior is flushed with pride.

Gotta love how this clown has his last name tattooed in large letters on his arm…maybe he forgets who he is…

The Burger King in Atascadero is a filthy, health hazard.

Where is the SLO County Dept of Health when they are needed?

Why are you not doing your part citizen?

Call Someone.

Well, at least he didn’t break out all the windows.

Juan is obviously not the sharpest tack in the box. He will likely be stuck in the cycle of crime and prison because it will be almost impossible to get a job.

The guy is on PROBATION and Burger King leaves him in the store alone with bags of cash? Please tell us that they didn’t do that.

He was on the fast track to a management position until this pendejo move.
