Grover Beach hit-and-run leads to drug bust

After causing an accident in a Grover Beach shopping center parking lot and then fleeing, a Shell Beach man was arrested for selling prescription pills. A Clovis man who was also in the vehicle was arrested as well.
Around 6:12 p.m. on Wednesday, a hit-and-run occurred in the shopping center parking lot located at 1741 W. Grand Avenue, according to the Grover Beach Police Department. Officers responded to the scene and searched for the suspect’s vehicle.
Another officer then found the vehicle in Pismo Beach in the parking lot of Denny’s on El Camino Real. Two men were inside the vehicle at the time.
Officers contacted the suspects and determined they were involved in a prescription drug transaction. Police seized more than 140 Xanax pills and more than $800.
Police arrested Anthony Allen Wong, 29, of Shell Beach and Francisco Daniel Flores, 21, of Clovis for possession of a controlled substance. Wong was also charged with hit-and-run, possession of a controlled substance for sale and violating probation.
Wong is currently in San Luis Obispo County Jail with his bail set at $50,000, according to the county sheriff’s office website. Flores is not currently in custody.
