New SLO County coronavirus cases continue to decrease

It has been more than eleven weeks since San Luis Obispo County had its first confirmed coronavirus case, and the number of new cases is at an all time low.

During the month of May, the county noted a surge in new cases primarily in the Paso Robles area. Even so, during the past two and a half weeks, the average number of daily new cases is less then two per day.

  • Week 1: average 2.9 new cases a day
  • Week 2: average 5.6 new cases a day
  • Week 3: average 4.9 new cases a day
  • Week 4: average 2 new cases a day
  • Week 5: average 2.9 new cases a day
  • Week 6: average 5.1 new cases a day
  • Week 7: average 3.6 new cases a day
  • Week 8: average 3.4 new cases a day
  • Week 9: average 4 new cases a day
  • Week 10: average 1.9 new cases a day
  • Week 11: average 2.3 new cases a day
  • Last three days: average 0.7 cases a day

There were two new cases during the past two days, both in Paso Robles.

Of the 271 confirmed coronavirus cases in SLO County, 253 individuals have recovered, and one has died. Of those still suffering from the virus, there are five people in the hospital – with three in intensive care in the hospital, and 12 recuperating at home.

In California, there has been a slight uptick in the number of new cases during the past week, primarily in a handful of counties in Southern California. On Sunday, there were 27 deaths in California, with 24 of those occurring in Los Angeles County.

As of Monday afternoon, there have been 114,791 positive cases, and 4,284 deaths in California.

Currently, more than 1,859,450 U.S. residents have tested positive for the virus, and 106,923 have died.

In addition, the number of people infected with the virus worldwide continues to increase: 6,361,888 cases with 377,150 dead.

Lol really?? We had 7 new cases today. Highest in a month. Just wait, with memorial day and all the protesting BS, we’ll be staying home for months


They are? There were 7 today. Who knows how many there will be thanks to the Valley coming to the area

Since the Central Valley has been flooding the central coast for 3+ weeks, I think we can put another stereotype to bed.


Shocked in MB: wonder if findings from an Italian study are at play here. They’ve discovered that as Coronavirus mutates, certain deletions are occurring in its DNA structure making it less and less potent as time goes on. Very promising if true.
