Anti-ICE protest in San Luis Obispo following fatal shooting

A couple hundred protestors gathered outside the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday morning to protest a fatal shooting by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent and the Trump administration.

At 10 a.m., protesters gathered off Highway 1 at Kansas Avenue. They held signs denouncing President Donald Trump and seeking the abolishment of ICE.

One protesters waved a defaced American flags while others waved flags of Mexico.

At times, the group chanted “ICE out of SLO.”

For months. anti-Ice protestors have gathered at the SLO County Jail from about 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. in an attempt to obstruct federal agents from arresting undocumented immigrants during their releases from the jail.

Representing 805UndocFund, the protesters hand cards to both citizens and non-citizens getting released from jail that recommend they not speak with officers or open doors if they knock.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) this week issued an immigration detainer against a man in the country illegally who allegedly dealt drugs and attempted to sexually assault a minor on the grounds of a church in San Luis Obispo.


In August, 21-year-old Arturo Rodriguez Reyna allegedly met with a girl under 16 years of age at Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa in order to sell or trade methamphetamine, according to court records. The meeting also included plans for the girl to expose her genitals to Reyna.


Following their meeting, the girl sought medical treatment at a local facility because of a reaction to the narcotics, which resulted in a police investigation.


During their investigation, SLO police detectives discovered that Reyna had contacted several girls under the age of 16 through text messages and various social media platforms, offering to give or sell narcotics to them. Reyna actively encouraged the minors to use cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana, and attempted to sexually assault one of the victims

I remember too. Not TEA Party but were members of The LaRouch movement founded by Lyndon LaRouch. Known as “LaRouchies” at best could be described as “eclectic” politically. LaRouch died in 2019.

Allowed the US border to be officially unsecured in order to fill democrat districts with “residents” to increase the voting power of the democrat party.


Everyone on the left adored Trump until he announced his bid for president as a Republican. He supports law enforcement, there are no credible accusations of pedophilia, got the endorsement of the NAACP, received the National Jewish Hospital humanitarian award, the Jewish National Fund tree of life award, the Muhammad Ali entrepreneur award, and the very first FIFA Peace Prize, and most importantly, the McDonald’s French Fry Certification Pin. Jesse Jackson thinks Donald Trump is a champion of minority empowerment.

I don’t understand, who would be against deporting illegal criminal aliens? Seems like a strange subset to want to defend.

One nice lady I talked to from the group spoke about an individual with pedophilia charges being deported back to France , but didn’t seem to grasp the irony of the situation. Who wants that guy?

My work frequently takes me to Santa Maria where I interact with folks with varying legal status.

I think my solidly white, highly ‘educated’ neighbors would be surprised to find that most of those hard working , family – oriented people don’t want the “ bad boys” around either.

The growing problem of organized drug trade operators – in both NorCal and the desert counties is going to have to be dealt with somehow, sooner or later as well.

I think the answer to your question is that, sure, we all want the “bad boys” or illegals who have committed egregious crimes to be deported, but when you look at who ICE is actually targeting right now, a majority have no criminal record whatsoever, and in most cases are contributing to our economy. In eight years Obama deported more than 3 million individuals and over 90% of them had criminal records. Look it up.


I never remember any white woman with their dog in the back seat being killed by federal agents in those days. Just cool, calm enforcement by a well trained federal agency that drew very little attention to itself. But now, the deportations are secondary for Trump’s goons—they want fear in the streets so that later this year they can manipulate our elections to keep the regime from never having to be held accountable for its actions.
