Arroyo Grande woman arrested for attempted murder

Mary BowdeySan Luis Obispo County Sheriff deputies arrested an Arroyo Grande woman who is suspected of attempting to murder her husband.

Shortly before 6 a.m., one of Mary Bowdey’s children called 911 to say that her parents were fighting at their home on the 400 Block of Corralitos Road. Deputies arrived to find her 57-year-old husband suffering from non-life threatening cut wounds.

Emergency medical personnel transported Mary Bowdey to a hospital to be examined and her husband to another local hospital where he was treated and released. Their two children are now in the custody of child welfare services.

Deputies booked Mary Bowdey into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder charges. Bail was set at $1 million.
