Fifth suspect arrested following Templeton home invasion

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff deputies arrested a fifth suspect on Thursday following a home invasion robbery in Templeton early Wednesday morning. Detectives tracked down a 16-year-old in connection with the robbery which occurred last Sunday in the 4700 block of See Ranch Lane in rural Templeton.

In their investigative, members of the Sheriff’s Gang Task Force were able to obtain the name of the final suspect, a 16-year-old from Templeton, and his location at Templeton Skate Park on 6th Street in Templeton. The teen was arraigned with the other four suspects on Friday.

Shortly after 3 a.m. on Wednesday, the five suspects allegedly broke into a home in the 4700 block of See Ranch Lane where about 20 teens and young adults were having a party. The suspects, dressed in all black with bandannas covering their faces, fired shots in the air, assaulted two males and ordered everyone to the floor, according to a sheriff’s department press release.

The suspects proceeded to rob several victims of their cell phones and wallets before they fled in their vehicle as well as two of the victim’s vehicles, a white BMW and a white Chevy pickup truck.

Officers spotted the BMW fleeing the scene and arrested three suspects.

Two of the home invasion victims helped law enforcement by “pinging” or tracking their stolen cellphones. Through “pinging,” Atascadero police officers were able to locate the stolen pickup truck abandoned in the River Gardens and the fourth suspect at a home in the 5000 block of Olmeda Avenue in Atascadero.

The suspects have been identified as Donovan James Alvord, 19, of Templeton; Albert Charles Heinicke, Jr., 18, of Avila Beach; and one 16-year-old and two 17-year-old male juveniles. The numerous charges include kidnapping, false imprisonment, robbery in an inhabited dwelling, assault with a deadly weapon with a semiautomatic handgun, burglary, conspiracy to commit robbery, discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner and an enhancement for use of a firearm in the commission of a violent felony.

Alvord and Heinicke, the two adults in the case, were also charged with kidnapping to commit robbery with great bodily injury which raises their bail amount to $1,150,000.

Will these guys get at least the same time in jail as the Cal Poly football players who tried to rob the fraternity house? Both of them strong arm invasions with weapons and several perps. IMHO at least that much time.

Skate park, duh. Can criminals give the police the professional respect they deserve by TRYING to get away with criminal activity? Reminds me of the kid who killed the elderly man in SLO with his skateboard. A cop went to Laguna BBQ, Brew and Meth and just waited…

That is why these articles need to stop stating if they are Asian, Hispanic,pink or green. They are all HUMAN BEINGS and that is all that matters. Bad/stupid people come in all sizes, colors, back rounds, and ethnic makeup has nothing to do with stupid.


I have read in the news of this new breed of idiots who suffer from affluenza. Rich kids who think it is okay to drink and drive, cause damage and think it is okay because they are rich. Then they get no time in jail, and then mom and kiddy run off to Mexico when rich kiddy breaks probation.


See idiots come in all colors and don’t let the last name make you think they are not as American as you and I.

citygirl, you seem to be relatively new to the comment section here. I have been lurking for several years before recently joining. My comment was intended for several regulars that are quick to point out when someone with an obviously Hispanic name as justification for their views on immigration (or sometimes when they are likely Black).


I think you and I are pretty much in agreement on this subject.
