It took organizers four years to secure the permits for a venue, The event ended up being held at the Cow Palace in Daly City.
The Expo was held against the backdrop of the blossoming fight for marijuana legalization in California–the issue has qualified to be on the November ballot. A panel discussion addressed the likely impact of legalization, though a contingent from pot-rich Humboldt County argued against legalizing because they fear loss of business.
Products for sale during the Expo ranged from a $500 bong to a $19,500 mobile grow house.
