Summer Solstice Reggae Festival at Avila Beach Resort, event photos
June 23, 2010

Set against the rolling green slopes of the Avila hills, slightly reminiscent of the texture of dreads and rimmed by enough palm trees to feel like the tropics, the Summer Solstice Reggae Festival at Avila Beach Resort was one of the ultimate ways to usher in summer.
Sunshine, the sea, and the gentle presence of smoke wafting innocuously on the breeze heightened the mood as California bands Top Shelf and Still Time took the stage, followed by Alborosie, The Dirty Heads and Fat Freddy’s Drop. And the audience couldn’t have been better in tune with the theme. Mixing rasta style with Avila class, the crowd was young, attractive and as laid-back as summer itself.
