Science Night at Allan Hancock, event photos
April 15, 2011
Young and old, over 650 people were excited to see, touch, and hear fascinating scientific and engineering principles in action at Science Night at Hancock College on April 8.
Dr. Robert Jorstad embraced the learn-by-doing paradigm by having his science students design, build, and demonstrate exciting devices similar to those at the world famous Exploratorium in San Francisco.
Many were electrified (safely) by high voltage bolts of lightning from two huge Tesla Coils provided by the Endeavour Institute. It was fascinating to watch excited adults as well as elementary students pulling family members around to show off one marvelous device or demonstration after another.
This event was the third of a series of four. The next one will be May 13, 6:30 pm, M Building, Allan Hancock College.
