San Luis Obispo man stabs ex-girlfriend

A San Luis Obispo resident stabbed his ex-girlfriend multiple times in an alleged attempt to kill her on Tuesday at about 3:25 a.m., police said.

At 3:10 a.m., several family members and friends of John Charles Ramos, 21, called police to say Ramos was suicidal and headed to the area of his ex-girlfriend’s house on the 1700 block of Santa Barbara Street, police said.

After the alleged assault, the 26-year-old victim called 911 to report she had been stabbed in the arm, shoulder and breast area. Paramedics transported the victim to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center.

Meanwhile, Ramos drove himself to French Hospital and asked hospital staff to help him because he had just stabbed his girlfriend. Ramos admitted to sticking his ex-girlfriend in an attempt to kill her, police said.

Police booked Ramos into San Luis Obispo County Jail on an attempted murder charge with bail set at $500,000.

To be fair, police work is all about REACTION, and nothing about PREVENTION. Unfortunately, crimes cannot be prevented by police, in general, and as gun owners are fond of saying… “When seconds count, police are just minutes away…”

According to the Trib SLOPD received SEVERAL calls at 3:10 AM regarding this mans mental state and the EXACT address of his girlfriend of whom he intended harm.

Guess the SLOPD didn’t get there in time as15 minutes is a long time if you are being stabbed to death!


Good thing Ramos was not employed by the SLO Fire Department as the SLOPD might have not ever showed up!

Just another shining example of how completely ineffective the police are in preventing crime. They are absolutely top notch at solving crimes, but they can’t do crap to stop them ahead of time.

Ahh…lets think here for a second. Are not crimes prevented blindly? How in the world would you know when something doesnt happen? Huh? Think People!! I am the first to criticize Police mistakes and corruption, but come on…there are bad people out there! Think of all the crimes that are being prevented because this idiot is sitting in County Jail!!!
