Man abducted during home invasion in Grover Beach
September 6, 2011
Police are investigating a Grover Beach home invasion and abduction that occurred at about 6:15 a.m. on Monday.
The male suspect entered an unlocked residence on the 400 block of Manhattan Avenue, brandished a firearm at a male resident, and demanded cash.
He then ordered the victim to take him for a drive in the victim’s black 2006 Hummer H3. They headed south on Highway 101 and then east on Highway 166.
In a desolate area, the suspect forced the driver from the vehicle and headed east. The unnamed victim, who suffered minor cuts and abrasions, flagged down a passing motorist who gave him a ride back to Grover Beach.
Police are looking for the suspect they describe as white, in his late 30s to early 40s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a “scruffy look.”
