Walmart return line bandit struck again?

January 3, 2012

By KAREN VELIE

The robbery of a Paso Robles Walmart on Saturday is oddly similar to a heist that occurred at a Gilroy Walmart a week earlier.

In both cases, a white man wearing a ball cap walked up to the cashier at the return line between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., passed a note demanding cash and fled the scene.

In Gilroy, the cashier handed the man $3,300 in cash. Paso Robles Police are not disclosing the amount taken at this time.

Both the Paso Robles and Gilroy police departments released security photos of the robbers.

While similar, witness descriptions of the robbers paint the Gilroy suspect as 6 feet tall while Paso Robles observers report their robber to be 5 feet 11 inches tall. Also, the Paso Robles robber was clean-shaven with glasses while the Gilroy robber sported a beard and no spectacles.

CalCoastNews sent Paso Robles Police Detective Mike Rickard a photo of the Gilroy robber earlier today.  Rickard said he could potentially be robbing Walmarts along the Highway 101 corridor.

“I am definitely going to look into it,” Rickard said.

ANYBODY that gets ANYTHING from those ANTI-AMERICAN thieves and HATERS of democracy: Wal-Junk ( without hurting any other individual ) is FINE with me.

Simple enough. Look for someone who is dressed better than most of us going to the Return counter.

Since walmart has robbed the US of so much this is small pay back. An improvement would be burning the damn behemoths to the ground.

“Small pay back”??!!! Why don’t you just man up and go to the WalMart returns counter in person. Say your immature comment to the 2 ladies who were working the returns counter last Saturday. Don’t you think they’re a bit traumatized?

Yeah wise hotdog, let’s just “burn the damn behemoth” of the Paso WalMart down while the greedy capitalist workers and shoppers are inside…NOT!

Same guy

$3,300 from Wal Mart instead of about $10k of a bank robbery; you seem to be forgetting that Wal Mart discounts everything they touch ….

In my opinion it is NOT the same guy but good point “Apathywillkillyou” Why would Karen Velie need to send a picture of the Bandit to the Paso police? At least the guy doesn’t use a gun…..and especially a stolen gun from a certain policeman from San Luis Obispo.

Does anyone find it ODD that CalCoastNews

“sent Paso Robles Police Detective Mike Rickard a photo of the Gilroy robber earlier today”

In other words Karen Vellie is not only doing investigative journalism but she is also helping law enforcement with obvious data that for some reason or another was not previously considered.

If only Ms. Vellie had her law degree she could run for District Attorney next election. Can’t you just imagine for a moment the positive impact that would make on our county!

Karen Velie for DA, OH WOW! I bet she would get elected too. Karen it’s only three years for a Jurist Doctorate, maybe two if you work at it extra hard. Lets raise money for Karen’s law school fund ;)

I should have known…Giants fan.

The beard makes his face look thinner but if you take a close look, this could be the same guy in my opinion. Too bad we don’t have a profile of the Gilroy guy. The more I look the more I can see the match.
