By ARMANDO TORRES-GARCIA

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies raided Taco Temple in Morro Bay on Wednesday afternoon in connection with a drug operation, sources and witnesses said.

Deputies arrested Efrain Ramirez, 44, the restaurant’s kitchen manager, for transporting narcotics. He remains in San Luis Obispo County Jail on an immigration hold, deputies said.

In addition to raiding the restaurant, deputies also searched Ramirez’ Los Osos home where they discovered an unknown quantity of drugs, sources said.

Ramirez is suspected of selling cocaine out of the backdoor of the restaurant for more than a decade, sources said. Law enforcement personnel are continuing to investigate.

Mexican food goes better with coke.

Teasing aside, I think the register area of Taco Temple is decorated with Thank You notes from schools and ball teams and other worthies that have been helped in one manner or another by the restaurant.

Obviously, that does not give them a free ride to deal drugs, but what I am saying is that they are (or were, anyway, I have not been there in years) a service to the community in addition to a good/affordable place to eat. So don’t be too quick to heap the accusations on one employee onto the entire operation.

a service to the community…

So was Kelly Gearhart…for goodness sake…!

Better be careful with that kind of thinking. This is exactly what the mob does. Spread around the wealth a bit to the local neighborhood and when you get into trouble with the law they will all want to stand up for you.

If you don’t think this is possible, just read some stories about John Gotti. This is EXACTLY how he operated in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Hence why he was the Teflon Don. It was hard to stick anything on him as no one would talk, as he was well liked in the neighborhood.

Watching a little too much Boardwalk Empire my dear? Only one man is responsible for this and he is in jail.

Thank you! We are good people working there and we make good food. The owners genuinely care about the community they have lived in most of their lives. The owners did not sell drugs… The man in question led them to trust him and used that trust to his own ends. The food and service are what matters about the Taco Temple…

If he has been doing this for 10 years then I would have to think that ownership would have known.

I would say involved

How’s that “open borders” policy working out for you all?

OMG! So that’s why I always feel so wonderful & energized after eating my carnitas burrito! I knew the parking lot wasn’t packed to the gills just for people shopping at Spencer’s! Surprise! Surprise!

Now we know why Taco Temple’s parking lot is always full…It’s the “candy” they put in the food!

I always wondered why they left that back door open all the time……

Have yo ever worked in a kitchen? It’s hot and airflow is nice when your standing in front of a grill, six burners and two 500 degree ovens

Ten years dealing coke out the back door and he is still a cook? Not much upward mobility in that job.

Have you seen the waitresses? I think they are all strung out.

perfect cover for an active dealer, not hard to make an extra buck moving blow and you get to meet lots of nice people I’m sure it was fun while it lasted.

This is no shocker. Taco Temple is known as a drug hub. Have you meet the owner? He is a junkie who is always high and has spent many nights on Kansas avenue. Good job Sheriffs. A job that needed to be done a long time ago.

After knowing Adam for over 20 years, and watching his struggles to stay together in Life & Business, he has shown himself to be a kind soul who gives others a chance to prove themselves. Sometimes people will fail you…sometimes they will deceive. There is no reason to print straight out libel because the owner had a bad seed. And really, Kelli…you seem to know an awful lot for just a customer.

Taco temple does not struggle……

Obviously he was talking about Adam’s personal struggles…

You don’t hire illegals and throw away the papers from Social Security informing you of a problem.

That’s what Meg Whitman did and lost the Governor’s election because of it.

Everyone should just remember that you are responsible if you hire an illegal and they get hurt on the job or are involved in illegal activities, then you get the blame.

An “immigration hold” here in The Sanctuary State? A rare find.

what am I missing? I don’t see an immigration tag anywhere
