Cambria man suspected of sexual abuse of a child
March 23, 2012
San Luis Obispo County Sheriff deputies arrested a Cambria man twice this month for charges of sexual assault of a child and domestic violence.
Deputies first arrested Enrique Merlos, 45, on March 8 for allegedly committing numerous sex crimes involving a child. He bailed out under a protective order that prohibits him from contact with the victim.
Detectives continued their investigation into allegations of domestic violence. On March 15, deputies arrested Merlos for mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence causing injury. He again bailed out of jail.
Investigators are asking members of the public with information regarding this case or any previously unreported incidents involving Merlos to contact the sheriff’s department at (805) 781-4550.
