September 24, 2012
A 50-year-old man from Kettleman City died late Sunday night in a crash on Highway 46.
Eric Wellington, 32, of Marysville, reportedly drove a Ford Expedition across the center yellow line just before midnight, clipping the front left of a Pontiac and causing it to spin off the road, according to the CHP.
The collision killed Cirigio Arias, the driver of the Pontiac, and left the Expedition upside down in the middle of the highway.
Wellington, his passenger, and a passenger in the Pontiac each suffered moderate injuries.
The CHP has not determined the cause of the crash.
