January 1, 2013
California Highway Patrol investigators have discovered surveillance footage of the truck involved in a hit and run that injured a San Luis Obispo Police officer on Monday morning.
Investigators identified the pickup that crashed into the back of San Luis Obispo Police Sgt. Jeff Booth’s vehicle as an early 2000s-model Chevrolet Silverado pickup with a ladder in the bed.
Shortly after Sgt. Jeff Booth entered Highway 101 from the Prado Road on-ramp, the pickup traveling at excessive speeds plowed into his cruiser propelling it to the center median and into a guard rail. Booth sustained minor injuries.
The suspect vehicle then fled the scene traveling northbound.
Officers are asking anyone with information about the accident to call the California Highway Patrol at 805-593-3333.
