Supervisor Gibson sneaks girlfriend back in office?

Supervisor Bruce Gibson has brought his legislative assistant and mistress back to work for him in his office, several county employees said.

These employees contend Gibson is attempting to bring Cherie Aispuro back to work at his side without public exposure.

Gibson’s adulterous, long-term affair with Aispuro— his legislative assistant of six years — had been slated to cost county taxpayers $68,870 in annual salary plus benefits for a parallel county position she was offered by the county administrator.

Since November, after Gibson admitted the affair and claimed he was planning to file for divorce from his wife, Aispuro has worked in the county clerk’s office at almost double what her co-workers are making for the same work. Meanwhile, Gibson has been operating without an assistant.

A secretary for the supervisors’ office, Kristi Gutierrez, said she is unaware if Aispuro is again serving as Gibson’s assistant. When asked if Aispuro had been in Gibson’s office Wednesday, Gutierrez affirmed, saying that Gibson and his friend had spent time in Gibson’s office.

County Council Rita Neal said that today Aispuro is working in the county clerk recorder’s office.

When asked if Aispuro is going back and forth between serving as Gibson’s legislative assistant and working in the clerk’s office, Neal said, “I am not at liberty to discuss that. On the record, Aispuro’s position in the clerk’s office has always been temporary.”

Calls for confirmation to County Administrative Officer Dan Buckshi and Human Resources Director Tami Douglas-Schatz were not returned.

Cherie Aispuro was appointed by Gibson as his legislative assistant, an at-will job that concludes when the elected official leaves office. After news of the affair with Gibson became public, the county offered Aispuro the new job.

I think these “Horn Dogs” need some power preaching from Ted Slanders. PRAISE!

Bunch of busy body biddies you guys! Name the rules broken or quit the gossiping.

There are no written rules about having sex in your office- Just ask Bill Clinton – there were (and still are) no rules about not getting a ‘blow’ job in the White House from Monica Lewinsky.

But it does say a lot about the image of a politican that will conduct there business in this fashion. And a politician’s image is about all he (or she) has (other than an extremely generous salary and benefit package gratis of the taxpayers).

Just ask Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, or Roger Clemons about image. There are no rules that anyone of them have been proven to have broken – yet their image has prevented them from getting into the Hall of Fame.

So rules are not the only thing that should be used to measure a person by. Conduct (or lack thereof) is also very important.

Fine, don’t vote for Gibson or Hill in the next election Paso_citizen. Let the voters decide.

This silly, gossipy article, worthy of inclusion in “The Globe” or “World,” was probably written by people who have made mistakes too. It makes this rag look cheaper than it is already. To their credit however, they left off the part abut being abducted by aliens.

Ms Tornassky…Paso_citizen can not vote for Gibson or Hill. Are you one of the un-informed voters that keeps hiding ones’ head in the sand? Do you pay income or property tax in SLO County?

No, I am not one of the uninformed voters, I watch the BOS meetings weekly. I attend WRAC meetings and follow the big issues like off-roading and Diablo in the news. I live in SLO County and pay taxes here. I attend Bruce Gibson’s Los Osos office hours when in town and am happy that the County is building the sewer (which is where the animosity against me here arises).

I’m not a resident of LO, nor would I condemn the sewer project. I have no idea who L. Tornatzky is. I do find it disheartening that some find it acceptable for our servants tdisregard ethical behavior to satisfy their needs. Can’t we do better? Why should we accept this? Surely that district can produce smarter,

more ethical candidates rfor this position. It’s not just what is against the rules, but what most (I hope) of us consider to be professional behavior. As taxpayers, we deserve representation we can trust. How do you trust a cheater, and why should the girlfriend get special treatment?

Lynette,

The discussion regarding Bruce brings into question the issue of moral turpitude, responsible governance, and frankly, knowing right from wrong.

As my representative, paid with a portion of my tax dollars, and one who makes decisions on my behalf, I expect a man/woman of character. At this point, his character is definitely in question.

Fine, then vote him out of office. This article panders to lowlife bottom feeders.

Perhaps because it involves, and is about “lowlife bottom feeders?”

I can give you one. Cherie Aispuro was hired as an at will employee by Mr. Gibson for a salary of approximately $66,000. She has been removed from that position and therefore should be terminated – period. But, that did not happen. Do to connections, an affair with the boss or bosses, she has been transferred to a “temporary position” at double the salary of the other people in the same department. Now, do you see anything wrong with this scenio or are you blind or just a loyal friend to Cherie or Bruce. If you do not see anything wrong with the actions of these two people, in a government workplace of a boss and suboridante then your morals also need to be questioned. Hopefully, this will help you to understand how we, the taxpayers paying for this mess, feel.

I know both Mr. Gibson and Ms. Aispuro only through the jobs they do here in Los Osos, LO Office Hours, LOCAC and community volunteer projects like the median planting across from Ralph’s.

What exactly did Ms. Aispuro do wrong according to the law? She worked for years in the County Recorder’s office. The job she holds now is one is a technical one that she did before, that no one presently there is able to do and the Office needed help. When it is over, as County Counsel Ms. Neal said, it had a time limit, then Ms. Aispuro has every right to apply for other County job openings. Did you sneak into the HR Department and read bad performance reviews? No, I thought not.

I am a County taxpayer too SLOBIRD, just not one freaking out over this incident but I do hear your opinion. You like I will vote when the time comes and we will let the people decide. My best guess is a lot of protesters here do not hold the same political views as Mr. Gibson or they are pi$$ed off about the Los Osos sewer. Sad they blame Gibson when in fact we got enough votes to assess ourselves to pay for it. That’s the way it works, we vote. Not everyone likes that arrangement, but clearly prefer the verbal tar-and-feather method of governance.

Amazing how the BOS protective groupies show up when supervisors are outed for boinking their low-class floozies on the taxpayers’ dime.

If only the Tribune and KSBY had the BALLS to publish and report all of these shenanigans! When and what does or will it take to get Gibson out of office!

RECALL by the taxpayers who have moral standards and care about are community and not their personal agenda’s. This is sad. And where is Shirley Bianchi in this mess regarding her fair haired boy. She has always been vocal about rightous fortitude and speaking out about it. Where are you now Shirley, still supporting your “boy”.

Yes. I vaguely recall building the new County Govt Center, and the need for a private elevator for the Supes. Now I understand why.

Because the BOS’ floozies knees are plumb worn out and they can no longer negotiate stairs?

You make yourself so cheap MaryMalone.

YOU LIE!

At times like this, I wish these corrupt politicians were Repulicans… at least then they’d be fired and the press would take a serious interest. Heck, charges might even be filed. Oh well.

Outrageous behavior is not limited to republicans or any party.

Aholes come from all stripes and gibson is a pure Ahole…

Unfortunately they can not be out right fired unless direct illegal activity is accounted to them. They always seem to slime their way around the rules and moarls they sworn to uphold…

That’s not really true, easymoney. If you’re talking about Supervisors, who are elected, then in the state of California, they can be fired – by the people – through the process called “Recall”.

And no, they don’t have to have broken any law or done anything illegal to be recalled. If you read the State of California’s recall process, it states they can be fired for anything at all – even if it’s something as simple as the people don’t like him and don’t want him to represent them.

One of the tragedies of this state is that recall is not used more often. The process has been given a bad rap and whenever I’ve heard recall mentioned to others, they cower down and say it’s too hard, too costly, and a whole list of misinformation about it.

It seems to me that the misinformation about recall has served those in politics very well, and so, the ignorance and laziness of the people allows for those who don’t deserve it, to benefit.

Bruce Gibson and Adam Hill are truly embarrassing. These guys never have never grown up. Rules and simple morality don’t apply to them. They obviously have no shame or they would have resigned long ago. How much more of this are the other 3 supervisors going to allow before they publicly censure these two shameless elected officials?

“County Council Rita Neal said that today Aispuro is working in the county clerk recorder’s office.”

Does that mean on that “day” she was working in the county clerks office and maybe on other days she’s working in Supervisor Gibson’s office?.

Really Bruce, how f’n stupid/lover struck/horny are you?. Dipshit.

When are we going to can these horny idiots.

68 and horney, a drean come true. Maybe these people are in the same position. Horney is a great way to be in the home. I really don’t think it should be addressed. It’s personal between wife and husband. God Bless

Taxpayers at the count of three please lean forward and grab your ankles. (The politicians’ new motto)?
