Patricia Gonzalez of Visalia suffered cuts and abrasions after the school bus hit her around 7 a.m at the corner of N Street and River Road. Initially, the California Highway Patrol canceled its response to the accident because it believed there were no injuries involved.
But, a few hours later, Twin Cities Community Hospital called CHP to inform the agency that Gonzalez had received treatment for injuries caused by the accident.
The reason the bus collided with Gonzalez is unknown. CHP has yet to identify the driver, but believes that person works for the San Miguel Joint Unified School District. The driver stopped initially after the accident.
CHP is continuing to investigate the collision.
