Man killed in Morro Bay boating accident
June 24, 2013
One man is dead and another injured after the boat they were fishing from overturned south of the jetty in Morro Bay.
Because of dense fog and low visibility, the friends drifted too close to shore and a wave capsized their boat. Neither of the men was wearing a life vest.
Suffering from minor injuries, one of the boaters made it to shore and called for help.
Rescuers found the second man floating in the water and performed CPR. He did not survive.
The name of the victim is not being released pending notification of his next of kin.
