California Valley woman returned to jail

A California Valley women who spent a year in jail after she shot and killed her boyfriend’s stepson was sent back to jail for violating her probation.
Gina Loret Mayborn, 57, said she shot Joseph Cochran, 49, in July 2012 after he threatened her husband, Douglas Chadwick, with a shovel. Mayborn plead no contest to involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to one-year in jail and five years probation.
While on probation, Mayborn tested positive for marijuana and methamphetamine use. San Luis Obispo County Superior Court Judge Jacquelyn Duffy sentenced Mayborn to 180 days in jail for the violation. After her release, if she continues to violate her probation she could be sent back to prison for several years.
